I’ve had a few micro helis but this one looks worth buying. Stable but will really move if you want it to and I can fly it in the yard when its quiet. Comes in a few versions and looks pretty durable to me. At $130 for BNF I think I’ll order one and see.

They don’t come any nicer than this one. From what I’ve seen and read the build quality is second to none. A great step up from 40 something wingspan planes that use a 3 cell because this one uses 2 three cell packs together. Get the full scoop at the Precision Aerobatics website. Premier RC Kites

Crazy stuff but Horizon Hobby is now carrying a line of R/C kites that look pretty cool. I’m sure its been a dream of many kite pilots to be able to full control their kites and now you can. The power unit is interchangeable so you can have all three kites and one power unit if you like. They come in different colors and 3 different styles.

Mikado Logo 400

Well I don’t have one yet but it’s only a matter of time. My preference would be the Logo 400 V-Bar version as it apparently adds a few higher end bits over the flybar version. The pic here is from OICU812 at Helifreak. Love the canopy! If anyone has setups of videos let us know.

Hacker Electric Turbine Motor….ye ha!

Well if you are into heli motors this will interest you. I’ve got my grubby paws on a Hacker Brushless Motor A40-10L 8 pole Electric Turbine. Running it on a Mikado Logo 500 with a 14 tooth pinion and RotorTech 560mm blades. So far I’m very impressed. Headspeed is high with no sign of bogging even with the 560’s. Lots of pop for $150. Will post more when I can.

Having flown the AJ extra I have no doubt there is nothing that will touch this plane in this class. When they say its like flying a big foamy that looks scale they’re not kidding. Simply put it will fly like a big plane, has great looks and presence, but will let you get away with murder when you want. Personally I can wait for these to be available.

Giant Scale for Electric – 3DHOBBYSHOP Extra 300 SHP

Plenty of giant scale stuff out there but not too many as great looking, great flying, or designed with electric in mind as the 3DHobbyshop Extra 300 SHP. From the look of the vids this thing is the last word in a giant aerobat designed for electric (although the gas is tempting too).

The dream has been realized! You can now sit on the sofa and fly a heli in your living room. The claim has been made before but this time its true. Not only does this thing have all the controls that your big one does….it actually flys great! For $150 you get the whole package RTF including a 2.4 Ghz radio system, battery and charger. The heli flies really well and is basically crash proof as long as you get off the throttle before it goes in. I’ve hit everything including myself and the dog with it and not broken a single part (yet).

Yes I know there are waaay too many 450 class helicopters out there but they all have something special about them don’t they? They’re alot like chips really…can’t stop at just one. Rising to the top however are a few nice kits like the Beam E4. You can tell its well made just looking at it and from what the reviewers have to say I don’t think you’d be making a mistake buying one…or two.

T-REX 700…must have one!

If you’re like alot of us you have your eyes on one of these. Just like all the other T-Rex helis you can expect a well thought out, great flying helicopter with parts readily available. Putting one of these together can however be a difficult task if you are new to the game. The best thing you can do in my opinion is watch someone else put it together who knows what they’re doing. For a great set of build vids on this heli check out the Finless build series on the 700 over at HeliFreak.
